Policy Profile

Energy Storage Standard

Policy description:

Two major trends have enabled the deployment of energy storage: declining costs and technological advances. There are many policy opportunities to take advantage of these trends, both for utilities and customers. For utilities, states can create incentives and requirements to deploy storage and manage distributed energy resources. For customers, states can create incentives for energy storage to manage fluctuating demand. For more information, see the full policy brief.
